Dinsun Review

I’m an old-school guy, and I usually find AR to be a waste of battery. However, [AR] Curling is surprisingly competent. The physics are the star here—you can actually feel the weight of the stone when you ‘throw’ it. Being able to scale the rink to fit my hallway was a neat trick.

That said, the novelty wears off fast. There aren't enough game modes to keep me coming back. It’s a great tech demo for showing off what your phone can do, but it’s not something I’m going to spend my Friday nights grinding. It’s clean, honest software—no ads, no IAP—which I have to respect in this day and age.

With «[AR] Curling», you get the first augmented reality curling app, that really gives you a feeling of playing around with a curling-stone on a real sized rink, combined with a completely new gaming experience. Play curling with proper 3D movements. Really curly the stone.
Add a special target-screen to visually follow the stone and closely observe the target-area.
Use the settings menu. Here you find useful configuration options such as the sensitivity of the stone, the friction of the rink, the number of opposite stones or the direction of light. You can even scale the entire game, to fit in your home. All graphic 3D elements are of the highest quality.
As always, this game will be without in-app purchases or annoying ads to help you get a nice product.

The Art of Sweeping

Sweeping only increases the distance and reduces the curl. If your stone is already moving too fast, stop sweeping immediately to let the friction of the ice slow it down toward the button.
